Department Of Corrections

Client: Department of Corrections
Location: Dunedin
Start Date: 2009
Completion Date: 2009

Lunds were awarded this 980m2 office redevelopment after a competitive tender. The alteration involved completely gutting two floors of a four story building and creating new work space for Department of Corrections staff including offices, staff rooms and private meeting suites.

The wall partitions were typically aluminium slimline partitioning suite, acoustic walls, glazed partitioning and gib lined walls, all completed by Lund staff.

Security in the systems, layout and built rooms was of the highest importance for the client, due to the nature of their environment. Lunds were continually aware of this, providing suggestions where this could be bettered.

The existing building threw a few curve balls with the second floor being up to 50mm out of level. Lunds provided practical and cost effective design solutions to this problem.

The office redevelopment was completed to a very high standard with defects all completed prior to handover and completed well within the 16 week programme. This project was a pleasure for Contract Manager, Justin McEntyre and Foreman, John Oxley to have been involved in.
